Wed, 31 October 2007  I introduce the October 29, 1939 episode of The Jack Benny Show by giving a bit of background on the show and characters. Jack hosts a Masquerade Party for Halloween, and suspects his singer Dennis Day's mother of trying to poison him. Funny stuff, still holds up today. Included here is a picture of the cast at the height of the show's popularity. From left to right: Dennis Day, Rochester, Phil Harris, Mary Livingstone, Jack Benny, Don Wilson, and Mel Blanc (yes, the Mel Blanc who did all the voices for Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and a lot of the other Looney Tunes cartoon characters - he was s emi-regular cast member) Enjoy the cast, and Happy Halloween!
